MARK KANNEMEYER

Mark Kannemeyer completed his Meisterschüler (Cum Laude) at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin, Germany (1986-1992).

Whilst he is widely known for his acclaimed illustration under the name of Lorcan White and his formative and ongoing role in the content of the legendary Bitterkomix series (with Anton Kannemeyer and Conrad Botes), the Rooke Gallery’s core focus lies with his paintings.

Mark produced a number of large-scale paintings whilst in Berlin and has refused to paint any new works since his return to South Africa in 1996. Rooke Gallery holds the entire collection of paintings and also the consignment of twelve illustrations completed by Mark over the same period whilst in Berlin.

Rooke Gallery will host a major show of Mark’s unseen paintings and illustrations from 17 September to 1 December 2009.
